There is this organization called KIVA. It is a non-profit organization that gets loans of money to people who need it and who could not otherwise get a loan from a bank because of how banks work with high interest  and profit oriented lending.

With KIVA, money is lent to persons or micro-finance collectives to help with things like stocking stores, building businesses, home repairs, seed for farms and lots of other things. You get to pick through all the applicants all over the world to decide who the money is lent to. This money is a loan. It IS paid back.

Currently, KIVA has had a huge donation of money and is giving $25 to lend to everyone who signs up. That's right $25! You don't actually get $25 but KIVA lends it to somebody on your behalf. You can lend more of your own money if you like.  And everyone you can find who will sign up for you, you can lend another $25. That's $50 lent to someone who the Big Ban...    less

That is what it is all about. Every act of kindness changes the world for the better. Here is something I've been into lately.

This is the only way to go. This is the way of the Future.

That's $50 lent to someone who the Big Banks said was not enconomically viable.  It's a big FU to the banks and says to them, 'we don't need you, we can help each other and not for profit either, but to make life better for someone else because each act of kindness makes this world a brighter place, so take your evil money lending and go back to the darkness where you belong.'This money IS a lone and it will be paid back and when it is, you get to find someone else in need to lend it too. It's FUN as well as helpful.

It only takes a minute to sign up (unless you are like me and like to browse the lenders and read the stories before you decide who to lend to) and if you sign up I get to lend another $25. I've been lending to a lot of people in the poor regions of Ecuador because Ecuador rocks for what they are doing for Julian Assange. But there is a woman and her family in the Thmor Koul district of Battambang province, Cambodia who needs some coin for some fertilizer and rice seed I'd like to help out.
