Jesus, called sinners to repentance.

  • Jesus, called sinners to repentance.

People say today, "Jesus hung out with the sinners man, he didn't judge them. He accepted them as they were."

Jesus didn't say there needed to be a change? Let's see if modern bible versions have a role in this thinking:

One reason is because modern bible versions leave out an important part of a verse pertaining exactly to this subject:

The KJV says "...for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." - Matthew 9:13

Look at what others leave out:

"For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” - NIV

"for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” - NASB

"For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” - NLT

"'I'm after mercy, not religion.' I'm here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders." - THE MESSAGE

"Come as you are sinner! You don't need to repent!" -- is the modern day false gospel.
